“You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished,” Finnish cross country skier Remi Lindholm told Finnish media. “It was one of the worst competitions I’ve been in. It was just about battling through. When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable.”
The race length was shortened from 50kms to 30kms due to inclement weather and frostbite fears. I’m betting that wasn’t the only thing shortened. Even with the frozen willie, the 24-year-old managed to finish 28th in the race and completely recovered after applying a heat pack following the race.
Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time Lindholm has frozen his appendage in a race. The same thing happened just last year in another cross-country competition in Scandinavia.
